Terms and conditions
Versione 1.3 · in vigore dal 15 settembre 2026
These are the rules of the service: what we offer, what we ask of you, and what happens if something goes wrong. We wrote them to be read, not to put you off reading them. If a part is not clear, write to us: if it is not clear to you, it is badly written.
Who we are and what you are accepting
FootNews is a service of SPORT VISION LAB S.R.L., registered office at Via Flaminia Nuova, 213 — 00191 Rome (RM), Italy, VAT and tax code 15507271003.
By using FootNews — from the site or from the app — you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, you cannot use the service: that is the only consequence, there are no others hidden away.
To sign up you must be at least 18. Registration asks for the date of birth and refuses anyone who has not reached it. If we discover that an account belongs to a minor, we close it.
What FootNews is
FootNews gathers football news published by independent outlets and sources, organises it and presents it to you in one place. Around this there is a community where you can comment and publish, an assistant based on artificial intelligence, quizzes and rankings, and a points system called FootCoin.
The news is not ours. Every piece of content belongs to whoever wrote and published it: we show its headline, an extract and a link to the original source, and we send you there to read it. We are not answerable for it, we do not check them one by one and we do not guarantee their accuracy. If an article contains a mistake, the correction has to be asked of whoever wrote it.
The service is offered as is, subject to availability at the time. We do what we can to keep it running, but we do not promise it will always be reachable or free of defects: we may interrupt it for maintenance, and we may change, add or remove features.
Your account
The account is personal: credentials are not lent and not handed over. You are the one answerable for what happens from your account, except where someone got in through no fault of yours — if you suspect that happened, write to us straight away and we will block it.
The data you give us has to be true. A made-up nickname is perfectly fine; a false identity to pass yourself off as someone else is not.
You can delete the account whenever you like, on your own, both from the app and from the site, in Profile → Delete account. You have 14 days to change your mind: you just come back in. When the time runs out your content is emptied and your personal details anonymised irreversibly. The detail of what remains and why is in the privacy policy.
What you publish
What you write — posts, comments, quotes, pictures — stays yours. By publishing it on FootNews you give us permission, free and non-exclusive, to show it inside the service and in its public parts, for as long as it stays published. It serves only to show it to others: we do not sell it and we do not give it to third parties for their purposes.
When you delete a piece of content, or the account, it stops being visible. The replies written by others under your content stay where they are, but stripped of your text: they are other people’s words, and it does not seem right to us to erase them because you are leaving.
You answer for what you publish. You must have the right to publish it: if the picture belongs to someone else, you need their permission.
What you don’t do
On FootNews you don’t publish:
- content that incites hatred or insults a person for their origin, skin colour, religion, sexual orientation or a disability
- threats, harassment, incitement to violence or suicide
- sexual material involving minors — reported to the authorities, no exceptions
- content that infringes someone’s copyright or privacy, including publishing other people’s personal data
- spam, unagreed advertising, scams and chain messages
- passing yourself off as another person, a publication or as us
- attempts to break into, overload or get around the service’s protections
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. By accepting these terms when you sign up or log in, you commit to respecting them.
Every report and every block reaches our moderators, and we review them within 24 hours: if the content breaks these rules we remove it, and we remove the user who posted it.
An automatic check verifies the text before publication and blocks the most serious cases. It is not perfect and does not claim to be: alongside it there is reporting, and every user can block another and stop seeing them.
If a piece of content breaks these rules we can remove it; if the behaviour repeats or is serious we can suspend or close the account. When it happens we tell you and explain why, and you can reply by writing to support@footnews.ai — if we got it wrong, we go back.
Advertising
FootNews is free because there are ads. We sell them and a server of ours serves them: there is no outside ad network, and nobody who recognises you on other sites. To show them to you we save nothing on your device: how we choose what to show you is explained in the privacy policy.
Every ad is marked as advertising, even when it has the shape of a news item. If you find one that is not, it is a fault of ours: report it to us and we will fix it.
With FootNews PRO there is no advertising: it is one of the things the subscription gives you, and it applies both on the site and in the app. If you cancel it comes back, because the free plan comes back too.
The content of the ads belongs to whoever pays for them. We sell the space and refuse what we do not want to host, but when you open an ad you leave FootNews and go to the advertiser’s site: what they offer you, and what happens there, is a relationship between you and them. If it looks misleading to you, write to us, because it is as much in our interest as in yours.
You don’t get around advertising with automated means and you don’t fake a click that isn’t there: those are the numbers the service stands on.
Subscription, payments and withdrawal
Signing up to FootNews is free. Some features are part of a paid subscription, whose price and duration are shown to you before you confirm.
You can subscribe in two ways, and who takes the money changes. From the app the purchase is handled by Apple, and what the App Store provides applies: automatic renewal and cancellation are governed from your Apple ID settings, not by us. From the site the payment is handled by Stripe, and cancellation is done from the payment settings in your profile.
The subscription renews by itself until you cancel it. Cancelling stops the next renewal: the period already paid for stays yours until it expires.
Deleting the account does not cancel the subscription. They are two separate things, and if you forget the second one you keep paying: we remind you of this on the deletion screen too.
You have 14 days to withdraw from the purchase, as the Consumer Code provides. Note one point: by asking to use the digital service straight away, you accept that performance begins before the 14 days, and in that case the right of withdrawal is lost once the service has been supplied in full. If you bought on the App Store, refunds are handled by Apple.
FootCoin and FootPoints
FootCoin and FootPoints are points internal to the service: they are used to take part in initiatives and unlock benefits inside FootNews.
They are not money. They have no value outside FootNews, they do not convert into euros, they are not sold and they are not transferred to other accounts.
If you delete the account the balance is lost and cannot be recovered, not even if you sign up again with the same address. We say it on the deletion screen too, before you confirm, because it is the kind of thing that cannot be put right afterwards.
The AI assistant
FootNews includes an assistant based on artificial intelligence. Its answers are generated automatically and may contain mistakes: they are to be taken as a starting point, not as a verified fact. They are not advice of any kind — not professional, not financial.
There is a number of requests included, different for free accounts and subscribers; the limit is shown to you in the app. The assistant may not be used in an automated way or to get around that limit.
Our brand and our software
The FootNews name, the logo, the design and the software of the service are ours. You may use the service, not copy it: no systematic extraction of the content, no copies of the service, no automated use that impairs how it works.
Names and trademarks of clubs, competitions and publications belong to their respective owners and are cited to identify what is being talked about.
If something goes wrong
We are answerable for the damage we cause you through our own fault, within the limits the law provides. We never limit our liability for wilful misconduct, gross negligence, or personal injury: those exclusions are void by law, and we do not write them.
We are not answerable, however, for the content of the articles, which belong to others, nor for the sites the links point to, nor for outages at Apple, Stripe or the other providers in the parts they run.
If you are a consumer, nothing in here removes or reduces the rights the law gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms — because the service changes or because the law changes. When the change is substantial we raise the version and flag it to you in the service before it takes effect. If you are not happy with it, you can delete the account: that is always your way out.
Below you will find what changed and since when.
- Versione 1.3 — 15 settembre 2026: Stated plainly that there is zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users, and that reports and blocks are reviewed within 24 hours.
- Versione 1.2 — 18 agosto 2026: Clarified that advertising saves nothing on your device: the code that left something there has been removed.
- Versione 1.1 — 17 agosto 2026: Advertising section added: the free service is supported by our own ads, recognisable as such, and we are not answerable for what is on the other side of the link. It also says that with FootNews PRO there is no advertising.
- Versione 1.0 — 10 agosto 2026: First edition written in-house, aligned with the actual service. Replaces the version generated by an outside service.
Applicable law and disputes
Italian law applies.
If you are a consumer, for any dispute the court of the place where you reside or are domiciled has jurisdiction, and you can turn to the European online dispute resolution platform (ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr). In other cases the court of Rome has jurisdiction.
Before it gets to that, though, write to us at support@footnews.ai: almost everything gets sorted by talking.
